The Civil Service is celebrating its 120th Anniversary!
Today, as we commence our Anniversary Month celebration, the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI is happy to launch, i-Storya: A Collection of Lingkod Bayani Stories, a digital publication that highlights and celebrates stories of heroism, sacrifice and brilliant innovations of the men and women in government service.
The anniversary theme: “Philippine Civil Service @ 120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation,” calls us to emphasize the important role and impact of technology in the way public service is done. Digitization has become an effective platform for exchange of information and speedy and accessible service to the public. Along with the digital breakthroughs is the selfless dedication of unsung heroes in public service. It is in this light that this project was conceived.
The “i” in “i-Storya” stands for information technology which is now the stage to showcase stories of heroic deeds/acts performed by government workers in the midst of this pandemic. It will also feature innovations that streamlined public service procedures, initiatives introduced for employee welfare and safety, as well as, demonstration of corporate social responsibility. And the heart of this collection are the stories of hope, resilience, and courage shown by our Lingkod Bayanis: their exemplary performance, the difficulties they encountered and the strategies they applied during the COVID-19 pandemic; and those little moments of pain, joy, sorrow, and of fulfillment as they embrace the challenges of being Servant Heroes.
